WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TRAVEL?
Your expectations and aspirations for the trip will be a critical determinant of this point. We can help you figure it out as we collaborate to outline your travel goals and budget.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR CHILDREN TO GO ON SAFARI?
This depends on the destination and specific accommodation.
We have had children as young as 1 year old on safari. Often special exceptions have to be made for children under age 6. Many lodges welcome children over age 6 and almost all lodges welcome children over age 12. Exclusive-use villas typically welcome children of all ages.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT CAN GO ON SAFARI?
The maximum number of people that can go on safari can vary depending on various factors, such as the type of accommodation, the destination, and the logistics involved.
For small group safaris, the typical maximum number can range from 6 to 12 individuals. This allows for a more intimate and personalized experience, with ample space for each person to enjoy wildlife sightings and participate in activities comfortably.
However, for private or exclusive safaris, the maximum number of people can be much higher. It’s important to note that while larger group sizes can be accommodated, they will require additional logistical considerations and arrangements to ensure a smooth and enjoyable safari experience for all participants.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY TRIP PRICE?
Your digital itinerary will specify exactly what is included and excluded. Generally speaking accommodations, meals, drinks, road transfers, light aircraft transfers and activities are included. Travel insurance, gratuities, visas, spa treatments, international flights and items of a personal nature are excluded.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE TRIP LENGTH?
The average trip length is 10-14 nights. There is no limit to the maximum number of nights.

IS TRAVEL INSURANCE ESSENTIAL?
Absolutely. It is a must we recommend insurance be procured as soon as you pay your deposit to ensure you are covered. Travellers must ensure they are covered for both travel related expenses as well as comprehensive medical cover.

CAN YOU ASSIST WITH TRAVEL INSURANCE
We are not licensed and do not provide this service.

CAN YOU ASSIST WITH BOOKING FLIGHTS?
Yes we can assist with regional and domestic flights within Africa and the Indian Ocean islands. For travellers who prefer to use their own aircraft we can facilitate aircraft handling assistance. We also provide comprehensive assistance with chartering aircraft.
We do not handle commercial international (inbound to Africa) flights.

WHAT IS THE WHY TRAVEL COMMITMENT FEE?
If you are agreeable with WHY curating your travel arrangements after the first call, we request a commitment fee before we provide a first proposal. Should you book your holiday through WHY Travel, this commitment fee will be applied as a credit towards the total trip cost. This will be credited when we invoice for the balance payment.
Should you decide not to book with WHY Travel for whatever reason, or cancel your holiday, you will forfeit the full commitment fee. This then covers our professional time spent on your itinerary.
0 – 6 guests traveling – USD$500
6 – 10 guests traveling – $1000
More than 10 guests – $1500

WHAT ARE THE TERMS OF PAYMENT?
Should you decide to proceed our commitment fee is due after the initial introductory phone call.
A 30% deposit is required at the time of confirming the booking.
The remaining balance is due in full 90 days prior to travel.

Payments are non-refundable thus we recommend purchasing travel insurance.

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED?
Payment options include wire transfer or credit card. We accept all major credit cards.

We do not accept checks.

CAN YOU ARRANGE A MEDIC TO TRAVEL WITH ME?
Yes. This service is an additional cost.

CAN YOU ARRANGE CLOSE PROTECTION THROUGHOUT MY TRIP?
Yes. We work with trained security personnel who provide executive protection, risk assessment, and security planning. This service is an additional cost.

IF THERE IS A GLOBAL PANDEMIC, CAN I POSTPONE MY TRIP?
Yes. All payments are non-refundable but we will gladly work with you to postpone your trip to new dates (subject to availability). Any payments made will be applied to your new dates. There may be a surcharge for accommodation and services with with annual rate increases.
